The International Association for the Exchange of Students of Technical Experience (IAESTE)
IAESTE was founded in London in 1948 and has links with UNESCO. The organization is responsible for sponsoring the swap of students attending universities and other educational institutes of higher education in different countries for practical experience in industry during their long holidays. Students of engineering and technology tend to prevail in the scheme, but there are opportunities in such fields as agriculture, forestry architecture, industrial design, economics, commerce and occasionally the hotel and catering industry. The Association in the UK is responsible for organizing the placement of overseas students with UK companies, nationalized industries, local authorities and universities for a period of up to 3 months, usually between June and October.
Note:
Entry clearance is not compulsory for non-visa nationals as the student will be issued with an IAESTE permit in duplicate.
